Essential Question:
Why should you use MS Word to create a document with desktop publishing features?
Key Questions:
How do you create a newsletter? What is a name plate? What are section breaks? What are columns? What is a drop cap? What is a pull quote? What is justified text? What is the format painter button?
Activating Strategy:
Use the Internet and find the definition for Desktop Publishing. List at least examples of items you can create using desktop publishing skills.
Instructional Strategies and Student Activity:
  • Continue Daily Journal
  • Students will complete Word Project 6 (Health Bits Newsletter)
    • To insert the text file go to: N:\Business\Computer Applications 2\Word 2007\DataFilesforStudents\Chapter 6
  • Make sure your name is in the the footer
  • Print the Health Bits Newsletter and label all the different components - use page 379 - that you created. (Ex. drop cap, column, borders, etc.) and turn it in when you're done
