Essential Question:
Why should you use MS Excel to create spreadsheets?
Key Questions:
How do you rotate text in a cell? What is an "Assumptions" table and how is it an effective tool in designing spreadsheets? What is the purpose of "Freeze Panes"? How do you use absolute vs relative cell referencing in a formula? What is an If function and what benefit is there to using it? How do you do advanced formatting such as, borders shading, fill, number styles, etc.? How do you put a chart on a separate sheet? How do you create better visual effects on a chart?
Activating Strategy:
Open your book to page EX 150. Examine the spreadsheet. Can you tell what data this spreadsheet represents? Be prepared to discuss.

  • Continue Daily Journal
  • Continue Daily Vocabulary; define terms 191-195
  • Complete Excel Project 3 - page 150-199 (Aquatics Wear)
  • Save file to your Z drive using the file name above - due today at the end of class
