Essential Question:
Why should you use MS Excel to create spreadsheets?
Key Questions:
How do you rotate text in a cell? What is an "Assumptions" table and how is it an effective tool in designing spreadsheets? What is the purpose of "Freeze Panes"? How do you use absolute vs relative cell referencing in a formula? What is an If function and what benefit is there to using it? How do you do advanced formatting such as, borders shading, fill, number styles, etc.? How do you put a chart on a separate sheet? How do you create better visual effects on a chart?
Activating Strategy:
Begin working on assigments below. Check your grades in IC.
Instructional Strategies and Student Activity:
  • Students will complete
    • Complete Excel Project 3 - page 150-199 (Aquatics Wear)
    • In the Lab 2 - page 215-218 (Casa Grande Resort & Spa)
    • In the Lab 3 - page 218-221 (Illiana Custom Homes - was created in Project 2. You will make changes.)
  • When you are finished with each spreadsheet above, call the instructor over for a screen check so you can get a grade

Make sure you have turned in any and all missing assignments
