Essential Question:
What is plagiarism and why should you know what it is and how to avoid it?
Key Questions:
What is plagiarism? How do you avoid plagiarism? What is researching ethically? What is researching efficiently? Why is it essential to start your research early? What is quoting? What is paraphrasing? What is the difference between quoting and paraphrasing? When should you cite? What should you cite? How do you cite? Where can you get assistance for researching and citing?
Activating Strategy:
Answer Essential Question above. You will turn this in at the end of class.
Instructional Strategies and Student Activity:
  • Continue Daily Journal
  • Students will complete You Quote It, You Note It interactive tutorial
  • Students will complete the Guided Reading Handout while participating in the tutorial - get the handout from your instructor
Summarizing Strategy:

TOD: On the same sheet of paper as your Essential Question, answer the Key Questions and turn in for grading.
