Why should you be able to use Excel to create a worksheet for budgeting and other financial purposes?
Key Questions:

What are worksheet titles? What are column titles? What are row titles? How do you enter numbers? How do you sum a column of numbers? How do you copy a cel to adjacent cells in a row? How do you determine mulitple totals at the same time? How do you save a workbook? How do you change a cell style? How do you change the font, font size, or font color? How do you bold a cell? How do you center and merge cell contents? How do you format numbers? How do you adjust the column width? How do you use the name box to select a cell? How do you add a chart to a worksheet? How do you change the name of the worksheet? How do you change document properties? How do you save with the same file name; different file name? How do you preview and print? How do you determine the maximum, minimum, or average? How do you use the fill handle?

Activating Strategy:
Begin working on assigments below
Instructional Strategies and Student Activity:
  • Continue Daily Journal
  • Instructor will introduce Excel and go over features while students follow
  • Students will begin the assigment below:
  • Excel Project 1 - pages EX 6-53 (Save Sable River Foundation)
    • Do not print. Read over the instructions on page 46 for printing, but do not print.
    • When you are finished, call instructor over for screen check/grading
  • Due tomorrow at the end of class
